Salvage deer
« on: November 21, 2018, 09:56:34 AM »
Not sure if you still can,but if so my daughter took out a doe in her car this morning on Summit Lk rd in Olympia. If it is legal I would do it but I’m in Seattle till late afternoon. It’s just past the antique store heading to the lake. Not sure what’s left haven’t seen the pictures yet.

I'm not sure at all 'cause we can't pick up road kill here.  I think you need to contact WDfW and they issue a permit to recover the animal.  Possibly do it all on your phone?

Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Just go scoop it up and take it home. There’s a form to fill out online. It’s super simple I did it last spring. Managed to get a deer that had zero meat loss.

:yeah:. You have 24 hours to fill out the form. Do it online then print out a copy and keep it with the meat and your all in the clear. The form just wants to know when and where you picked up the deer. Doe or buck. And then your all set to enjoy.  I've salvaged a few nice deer last winter that had very little damage to the meat. Sure beats letting it spoil and go to waste.
